Need a safe shutdown command from broswer

Instead of relying on the apache server to close down Kunagi there should be a way for the admin to remotely request Kunagai to close. During closing it would not allow any further connections from any non-admins and should safely commit the database.

I think what caused us to loose data was rebooting the PC while Kunagi was writing to its database. Note we have Kunagi running as an automatic service under windows. Therefore we can not simply close the open windows wrapper. Other than this issue it works very well under windows!

For robustness there should be a safe shutdown.

I am not sure, if it is possible for an Java Web Application to shutdown its server.

But we could built in a function which "locks" Kunagi.

Locking/Unlocking would accomplish what is needed.

This would also help with our daily backups. Currently we copy the entire directory to a backup device. There are over 20,000 files. We have no way to prevent users from accessing the database while we are backing it up. A lock/unlock would be great!
