Could you please elaborate on what exactly you tried to do?

There is a field labeled "Date and Time", so I thought I could edit the value, but it doesn't let you edit it... so not sure what that field is for...

I just tried it on our systems and I could edit it. Please give us some more details. Did you get an error message when klicking on the field? Did it switch to edit-mode? Did you get an error message when submitting the value (by typing ENTER)? What exactly did you type into the box and what exactly happened?
I have tried it with: 2014-02-04 11:11:11

If I put in that exact string "2014-02-04 11:11:11", it works fine. However, if I put almost anything else in, it just clears back to "." with no error message.
I think it is expecting a very specific format, which it never tells me what it should be. If I put in just "2014-02-04" it won't accept it for instance, but what if I just want to put the date in?
Also: I originally tried something like "Feb 01, 2014", which it also doesn't accept.
If it is going to be strict about the format, it should let me know what I'm doing wrong. Even better, it should be flexible enough to convert and accept various date/time formats.
Thanks!

The other thing is, it wasn't clear to me at first what this Date/Time field was for. Now that I have entered "2014-02-04 11:11:11" in there, I can see what it is doing, it tells the user how many hours until the event that the message is about, right?
So I can see why a precise date/time is needed. However, the interface should explain better what the field is going to do, and also show the user what format has to be entered.
I'd even think that having a separate Date and Time field would actually be less confusing...
