Assign tasks to other users
Let one user register that his colleague selected a task.
I think there is a difference between self organised team and one guy taking the keyboard and taking note of who took the card on the brown paper. Let me explain, frequently you have a real brown paper that you use for daily scrum but you want to keep track of what you did and let people that are not closed to your room to follow your progress. In that case, every team member is in the daily meeting room and one guy keeps track of what task each team member pick. If you need to logout and leave the keyboard to your friend to register you took that task, it becomes unnecessarily painful.
So perhaps you could give a second chance to this issue....
