Internationalization
To allow the usage by as many people as possible, Kunagi should be available not only in English, but in multiple languages.
Acceptance tests
- an easy possibility to provide all texts in the program in different languages
- users from the Internets should be able to do translations
- provide English and German

Ok, wenn Ihr jetzt ein paar Tutorials schreibt kann man diese Anforderung etwas nach hinten nehmen - trotz allem würde eine Deutsche Version dem Tool noch einen weiteren Kick geben!

I would be happy to prepare Polish translation

Thank you for the offer. Unfortunately, the main problem here is not the translation itself, but creating the possibility to include it into Kunagi.

I would be cool to provide some kind of standarts-based translation ability, like gettext, or *_messages. Were now evaluating Kunagi, and Id like to contribute Russian localization.

Kunagi is based on GWT, which provides its own concept for internationalization. But we have local strings on the server too.

Oh, well, didnt think about it. Anyway, are there any plans on i18n?

Well, as you can see it's not very high on the list, so there are no concrete plans yet. Unfortunately, this feature is quite a workload to implement and maintain and targets only a small portion of our users.

In my opinion this is a story that could be dismissed. You can safely assume, that somebody involved in software development understands english.

I disagree. A CUSTOMER with a role of PO (Project Owner) have to be included in the team and one should't assume that he/she can use english as communication. It will be difficult to convince him to live as PO without native language possibility.

I disagree too. Here in our company we are expanding projects outside IT, some Product Owners, here in Brazil, that are starting in the agile project management usually don't have english.
I'm willing to help to translate in pt_br (portuguese brazilian)

Wie sieht der technische Ansatz für eine Internationalisierung von Kunagi aus? Gibt es eine zentrale Sprach-Datei? Bin bereit eine Übersetzung zu erstellen - wer hilft mit?
Tue, Feb 28, 2012, 14:41 by artjom (PO,T)
Das größere Problem an der Story (und das ist auch der Grund, warum die so komplex geschätzt ist und so niedrig priorisiert), ist die technische Umsetzung, nicht die Übersetzung an sich.

I also want to contribute Chinese localization for Kunagi.
Any chance?

At the moment, we have no easy way of including localizations into Kunagi. For that story, what needs to be done first is the technical side, not necessarily the translation. Thanks for the offer though.

Just pulled the code down.
If there is no body currently working on this story, I'll give it a try.

If you have questions about code or implementation details, you can email me: wi@koczewski.de

We are working on the Stories that are currently found in the Sprint Backlog. Thus, we are not working on this one.
Just a quick note: If we are to include a contributed implementation into our Kunagi releases, it needs to be sufficiently solid (not a quick hack), because we will have to maintain it from there.

looking forward to some Chinese translated version as well. Thanks.

Hi,
We use Kunagi at work to manage Scrum projects. As soon as internationalization will be possible, I would be happy to help for french (fr_FR) localization.

@artjom
if I implement a design pattern translation in last release. Do you will merge into your master branch?
Thu, Jun 6, 2013, 18:54 by Witek (SM,T)
We are happy to get external code for internationalization, but it has to fit into Kunagi. Therefor I recommend to describe how you would implement this. So we can give you hints if there are some problems or impediments for integrating your code into our codebase.
You can email to support@kunagi.org or post here.

Hi all, is there a new status about this task?
Fri, May 27, 2016, 12:42 by artjom (PO,T)
Hi, thanks for your question.
Unfortunatelly, I must tell you that nobody is working on this. Also, the priority of this Story is low, so you will not likely see us start on this any time soon.
We have had several requests for this Story throughout the last year, so we could thing about re-prioritizing. However, in the near future, our focus will be on UI, usability and a few missing features that we have not come around to finish.
